GRANT APPLICATION GUIDELINES
For organizations wishing to hire performers who are members of the Jewish
Storytelling Coalition of New England.
PURPOSE
The JSC offers grants to organizations to encourage Jewish
storytelling programs As a resource to the community, our members can
provide high quality performances and workshops with a Jewish theme. Consult
our directory for professional storytellers who have experience working
with young children, families, and adults.
GRANTS
JSC will fund some portion of the storyteller's fee, up to a maximum of
$125.00
The storyteller's fee is to be negotiated directly with the storyteller.
HOW IT WORKS
Steps for event planning:
Look through the directory of JSC member storytellers. Call tellers to
discuss your program and request promotional materials. Negotiate directly
with the storyteller of your choice to confirm a specific date and fee.
Complete the application and submit three copies. Applicants will be notified,
in writing, within two months of receipt of completed application.
WHO MAY APPLY
Synagogues, Jewish cultural groups, schools, and other
nonprofit organizations may apply for funds to help pay the fee for a
storytelling performance or workshop by a JSC member storyteller.
CONDITIONS
JSC members are limited to receiving two grants in the
yearly cycle.
Organizations are limited to receiving one grant in the yearly cycle.
"Funded in part by the Jewish Storytelling Coalition" must be
printed on all event literature, including any publicity flyers, mention
of the event in the organization's newsletter, and press releases to local
papers in the case of public events. Copies of all publicity must be sent
along with he reimbursement request. Some form of printed publicity giving
credit to the JSC is a REQUIREMENT FOR REIMBURSEMENT.
PAYMENT
Payment of grant will be sent to the organization upon
completion of the program and receipt of a reimbursement request (including
copies of event literature and publicity.)
The current grant cycle will end on December 31, 2002.
